Principles
- Local first. File processing happens in your browser. A server that never receives the file cannot leak it.
- No fake functionality. If a target size or a conversion cannot be achieved, the tool says so and shows the real result.
- Dated data, visible provenance. The IFSC tool shows the dataset release, import date and checksum.
- Accessible by default. Keyboard operation, visible focus, labelled controls and a drag-free path for every file action.
- Permissive licensing only. The engines are MIT or Apache-2.0 libraries, recorded with attribution.
How it is built
Static pages generated with Astro and TypeScript, with small browser-side scripts rather than a single-page app. Images use the browser's own decoders plusbrowser-image-compression; PDFs use pdf-lib with pdf.jsfor previews; QR codes use node-qrcode. The IFSC dataset is ingested at build time from a pinned release and served as static shards.
What is deliberately missing
No accounts, no cloud storage, no advertising, no "AI" badge on a deterministic tool, and no PIN code search until an official dataset can be retrieved and verified. A missing feature is better than a route that pretends.
Feedback
Corrections about data accuracy, accessibility or a wrong result are the most useful reports. See the contact page.
