Dev shelf: save what you keep needing

A local list of payloads, tokens and notes — searchable, copyable and exportable, stored in this browser profile and nowhere else.

Entries are stored in this browser’s IndexedDB. There is no upload, no account and no sync — and the data is not encrypted at rest, so encrypt secrets before saving them.

Short answer: label it, pick the tool it came from, paste the text, save. The list is searchable, each entry copies with one click, and Export gives you the whole shelf as JSON.

Why a shelf and not a notes app

The same four values get pasted into these tools all week: a staging token, a document hash, a subnet, a checksum that failed. A shelf turns that into one click and keeps the text out of chat history and screenshots. It is deliberately local — a synced shelf is a synced secret.

What it is honest about

Shelf questions

Where is this stored?

In IndexedDB under this site’s origin, inside this browser profile. It survives a reload and a restart, it is not synced to any account, and there is no server that ever receives it. Clearing site data removes it.

Is it encrypted?

No. IndexedDB is plain on disk and readable by any script running on this origin, and by anyone who has your browser profile directory. If an entry is a secret, encrypt it with the AES tool first and save the ciphertext here.

Why does the shelf warn about private windows?

Private and some hardened profiles block IndexedDB entirely. When that happens the page says so instead of showing a save that silently failed — an empty shelf after a reload is worse than a clear error up front.

Can I get my entries out?

Yes — Export downloads the whole shelf as JSON, and Copy puts the same JSON on the clipboard. There is deliberately no account, so export is the only way to move the shelf to another browser, and it is a plain file you control.

Are entries ever sent to the site owner?

No. The page makes no request after load: saving, searching, deleting and exporting all run against the local database. You can confirm it in the network panel while using it.
