Enter credits and grade points; the weighted average, the credit points and the percentage conventions are shown side by side.

Subjects, credits and grade points
SubjectCreditsGrade pointActions

Everything is computed in this tab. Grade sheets are personal, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored.

Short answer: SGPA = Σ(credit × grade point) ÷ Σ(credit). Add each subject’s credits and grade point, and the page shows the credit points per subject so a mistyped 3 in place of 4 is visible.

Worked example

Four-credit Maths at grade point 9 is 36 credit points; a one-credit lab at 10 is 10. With five credits in total the SGPA is 46 ÷ 5 = 9.2 — not the 9.5 an unweighted average would give. That gap is why credit-weighted matters.

What this does not decide

Converting a finished CGPA already? The CGPA converter does that directly, and the percentage calculator handles marks.

SGPA questions

Why is my SGPA not the average of my grade points?

Because a credit is a weight. A 4-credit subject counts four times as much as a 1-credit lab, so the arithmetic is sum(credit × grade point) ÷ sum(credit). Averaging the grades ignores that, and gives a number no university would print.

Which percentage formula should I use?

Whichever your university publishes. Three conventions are common — (CGPA − 0.75) × 10, CGPA × 9.5 and CGPA × 10 — and this page shows all three with their names, because they disagree by several marks. For a form, use the one your institution states.

Can I calculate a CGPA here?

This page takes one semester at a time; the arithmetic is the same either way. A CGPA is the same credit-weighted mean across every semester, so add each semester’s credits and credit points together and divide — the warning on the result tells you when you are looking at an SGPA rather than a CGPA.

Is my grade data uploaded?

No. The calculation runs in this tab and nothing is stored. Marks and roll numbers are personal data, which is exactly why this does not need an account or a server.
