visible signature · not a certificate

Sign a PDF

Draw a signature once, place it on the page you choose, and download the signed file — all in this tab.

Draw with a mouse, a finger or a stylus.

Your PDF and your signature stay in this tab. A signature image is a credential: it is never uploaded and never stored.

Short answer: choose the PDF, draw in the box, set the page and position, then place the signature. The download is a new file; the original is never modified.

Visible signature, and why that is stated

A picture of a signature is what an employer, a landlord or a college form expects. A digital signature is a cryptographic seal that needs a certificate and proves the file was untouched. This tool does the first, and the page says so because “signed PDF” is used for both.

Placing it well

The result is a normal PDF you can still merge or number:add page numbers for a multi-page form, orreorder pages before signing.

Signing questions

Is this a digital signature?

No. This places a picture of your signature, which is what most forms ask for. A digital signature is a certificate-based operation that proves the file was not altered — different thing, different meaning, and a page that blurred them would be misleading.

Where exactly is the signature placed?

The position is a percentage of the page, measured from the bottom-left, so the same placement works on A4, Letter or a scanned page of odd size. The result panel reports the rectangle in points after the fact, and the image is clamped so it cannot run off the edge.

Why does it insist on a PNG?

Because a PNG can be transparent. A JPEG signature carries its own white rectangle into the document, which looks like a pasted box rather than a signature. Drawing in the box produces a transparent PNG automatically.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The file is read in this tab and the signed copy is generated here. Contracts and certificates are exactly the documents that should not be sent to a signing website, which is why this one does not need a network.
