Tax invoice, in the browser

GST invoice generator

A tax invoice with the fields a GST invoice actually needs: GSTINs, HSN/SAC, per-line tax, the CGST/SGST split and the total in words.

Invoice data stays in this tab. The PDF is assembled locally, so client names and amounts are never uploaded.

Line items

Columns: description, HSN/SAC, quantity, rate, GST %.

Short answer: fill both GSTINs, the invoice number and the line items, choose intra-state or inter-state, then download. Tax is computed per line in paise, so the CGST/SGST columns and the grand total agree to the last paisa.

What makes an invoice a tax invoice

Both GSTINs, a unique serial number, the date, HSN or SAC codes, the taxable value, the rate and the split of tax. Miss the HSN code or the buyer GSTIN and an input-credit claim on the other side can be rejected — which is why those fields are on the form rather than buried.

Numbering discipline

Invoices must be numbered serially within a financial year. Pick a scheme — INV-2026-001 — and keep it; a gap or a repeat is the kind of thing an audit notices. This page prints whatever you enter and does not manage the series for you.

Invoice questions

When does an invoice use IGST instead of CGST and SGST?

When the supply is inter-state — the seller and the place of supply are in different states. Within one state the tax splits into CGST and SGST, each at half the rate. Choosing the wrong one is the most common invoicing error, so the tax type is an explicit field here, not a guess.

Where do the GST rates come from?

From you. The rate is a per-line field because classification decides it: 0, 5, 12, 18 or 28 depending on the goods or service and any notification. This page does arithmetic, it does not decide your HSN/SAC code or your rate.

Is this invoice valid for GST filing?

It carries the fields a tax invoice needs — GSTIN of both parties, invoice number and date, HSN/SAC, taxable value and the tax split — but validity also depends on your registration, serial numbering and e-invoicing rules. This is a document builder, not a filing tool, and the PDF states that.

Are the amounts rounded correctly?

Each line is computed in paise and rounded once, then the totals are summed from the rounded lines, so the printed columns add up exactly. A 18% split never produces a paisa mismatch between the line, the tax total and the grand total.
