Page boxes rewritten, content untouched

Resize PDF pages

Give every page the same paper size. Mixed A4 and Letter pages, scans photographed at odd sizes, and exports that came out at 8.5 × 11 all end up consistent.

Sizing happens in this tab. The document is never uploaded.

Short answer: choose the paper size, choose Fit or Fill, and download. Fit never cuts content; Fill covers the page and crops the overhang. Pages are scaled as vector objects, so text stays sharp and images are not re-compressed.

Why a PDF can look A4 but fail an A4 check

A portal checks the page box, not the paper you print on. A document scanned on Letter paper is 612 × 792 points; a form that expects 595 × 842 points rejects it even though the difference is a few millimetres. Resizing rewrites the box so the file matches the requirement, and the content is drawn into it proportionally.

Mixed page sizes in one file

Scans assembled from a phone, a flatbed and an email attachment often carry three different page sizes. With orientation on Automatic, each page keeps its own shape and only the paper changes — a wide chart stays wide instead of being forced into portrait and shrunk to half width.

Resizing questions

What is the difference between fit and fill?

Fit keeps the whole page visible and adds white space where the shapes differ — nothing is cut off. Fill scales until the paper is covered, which crops the long edge. A portal that demands A4 usually wants fit; a photo sheet usually wants fill.

Does resizing reduce quality?

No. Pages are embedded and drawn at a new size, so text stays vector and images keep their original data. What changes is the physical page box, not the content inside it.

What happens to a page that is already landscape?

With orientation set to Automatic, each page keeps its own shape: wide pages get landscape paper and tall pages get portrait. Choose Portrait or Landscape to force every page the same way.

Why is my margin in millimetres?

Because that is how print requirements are written. A 10 mm margin is what most printers can actually reproduce; anything under 5 mm risks being clipped by the printer’s unprintable edge.
