Rotation written into the page tree

Rotate PDF pages

Turn sideways or upside-down pages the right way up, on the whole document or just the pages you name. The rotation is saved into the PDF itself.

Rotation happens in this browser tab. Your document is never uploaded.

Short answer: drop the PDF, choose 90°, 180° or 270° and press “Rotate and download”. Every page turns by default; switch to “Only these pages” to fix a single sideways scan. The rotation is written into the page tree, so it survives printing and email.

Why a rotated page comes back sideways somewhere else

Some tools rotate the page view and some rotate the page content. Only the second kind travels: a page rotated here carries the angle in the file, so every viewer, printer and portal upload shows it the same way. A viewer-side rotate is lost as soon as the file is opened elsewhere, which is why a scan can look fixed on your phone and crooked on a government portal.

Mixed batches

Scans often arrive with a few pages upright and a few upside down. Rotate 180° on the odd pages first, then check the whole file in the preview on the organize page — that tool shows every page in output order, so a wrong turn is visible before you send the document anywhere.

Rotating questions

Does rotating a PDF lose quality?

No. A PDF page carries a rotation value and the content is untouched, so text stays selectable and images keep their original bytes. Nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed.

How do I rotate only one page?

Choose “Only these pages”, then type the page numbers or ranges — 2, or 4-6, or 1,3,7-9. Page numbers start at 1 and are checked against the real page count before anything is written.

Why did my page turn the wrong way twice?

Rotation adds up. A page already turned 90° becomes 180° when you rotate it another 90°, so running the tool twice is the same as asking for 180° once. Pick 270° to undo a 90° turn.

Is the PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is parsed and rewritten in this browser tab, and the download is created in memory. There is no server component that could store it.
