weekdays − holidays

Working days calculator

Two dates, an optional holiday list and an optional six-day week. The page reports business days, weekends, holidays skipped and calendar days.

Short answer: Monday 5 October 2026 to Monday 12 October 2026 is5 working days out of 7 calendar days. List a holiday inside the range and it drops to 4, with the skipped date named.

Why the three buckets matter

Delivery estimates, SLA clocks and payroll all run on business days. A count that simply divides calendar days by seven is wrong by up to two days a week, and a count that hides its holiday list is impossible to audit — so this page prints working, weekend and holiday totals that must sum to the calendar span.

Worked example

Invoice dated 1 October 2026 with 30-day terms: count from 1 October to 31 October, which is 30 calendar days, 22 weekdays and 8 weekend days. Add Diwali and the due date moves by as many working days as the holidays inside the range.

Working day questions

How are working days counted?

Every date from the start up to but excluding the end date is classified as a working day, a weekend or a holiday, and the three totals always add up to the calendar days. That makes the arithmetic checkable rather than something to trust.

Which days are the weekend?

Saturday and Sunday by default, which fits most offices. Turn on "include Saturdays" for a six-day week — the count then excludes only Sundays. No assumptions are hidden: both figures are shown.

Why do I have to enter the holidays myself?

Because holiday calendars differ by state, country and year, and a wrong one would silently change your delivery date. List the dates you know and the page skips them and reports exactly which ones it skipped.

Does a device timezone affect the answer?

No. Dates are compared as UTC calendar dates, so the count cannot shift by a day because of where you are. This is the same rule the age calculator follows.
